Project Summary
The Jurupa Valley High School Innovation Center is one of several innovative projects undertaken by the Jurupa Unified School District to implement their mission of empowering every student to unlock their potential in school, future careers, and life. The project modernizes an underutilized building into a high-tech innovation lab that accommodates industry equipment, integrates the latest technology, fosters collaboration, and inspires students to explore and create.
As part of its Career Technology Education (CTE) program, the Center is home to multiple STEAM pathways and has been designed to promote creativity, experimentation, and lifelong learning in a state-of-the-art facility. The architectural design focuses on creating an inspiring, flexible environment for students to design and construct their projects. The layout is open to allow flow from one space to the next beginning with ideation in the computer lab through fabrication in laser or 3D printing labs. The design is meant to trigger curiosity and inspiration among students, in an environment where they realize the benefits of collaborating with each other as they dream, create, and build, which are all essential to lifelong learning.
